The ship's name - Yum Yum - was adopted from the previous owner, who came from England.
Yum Yum was a young and pretty Japanese dishwasher who played the lead role in the Gilbert and Sullivan operetta "The Mikado." The previous owner's father enjoyed playing this operetta piece on the violin. You can read the full story of the operetta here .
